On February 21st, the organisation for the Animara Con Festival, announced that unfortunately, they had to cancel the event.
Held in Sherbrooke for 5 years, the festival was a nice place for japanese culture and animation, cosplay, and videogames enthusiasts to gather for a weekend and enjoy activities together, participate in a masquerade and buy goodies to bring home come Sunday.
Sadly, due to a lack of resources and volunteers to put together and staff the convention, they were forced to pull the plug on the project.
Animara Con 2018 was the last edition of the festival, unless something changes in the future.
We regret to announce that the Animara Con convention will no longer be held. As we are lacking in resources and volunteers, we could not present an event that we would be proud of. Therefore, we have decided to shut it down.
We have had 5 splendid editions, and we wish to give heartfelt thanks to all of the attendees, vendors, artists, partners, guests and volunteers who participated in this adventure with us.
